We are looking for a detailed problem-solver to join our Accounting team! Our current team of three report to our CFO. The L&M Finance team is focused on process improvement, accuracy, and are collaborative and supportive of one another.
The ideal candidate must have a passion for problem solving, process improvement and financial analysis. A strong understanding of GAAP, accountability, a strong work ethic, and a desire to bring positive energy into the office each day.

Primary Responsibilities
- Examine and analyze financial records and transactions in accordance with accounting principles and business procedures and identify areas for improvement
- Be integral in the completion of the month-end close process – understanding business transactions and capturing those via journal entry
- Analyze and describe financial performance through variance analysis, telling the story of the month, not just reporting the variances.
- Investigate transactions that hit the G/L – you will own figuring out the root case and working with the team if a solution or process change is needed
- Prepares monthly budget reviews, understands our spending habits and suggests alternatives to be more efficient
- Collaborate cross-functionally to establish best practices, and process improvement
- Track key metrics and provide key reports
- Work with the operations team to execute the physical inventory and work with our auditors to complete our annual audit
- Assists with collections efforts and credit tasks, as needed
Education, Experience, and Attributes
- Detailed-oriented with the objective of consistently delivering high quality work product
- A data driven, forward thinking mindset with the ability to make connections, carry forward what you have learned, and identify or anticipate potential challenges before they arise
- Desire to learn and grow
- Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while staying organized
- Experience in a Finance or Accounting environment is preferred, but not required
- Degree in Accounting
- Inventory experience a plus
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost control principles, and A/R is preferred
